New York based video artist and filmmaker Sophia Peer was born in Queens, New York, in 1980. She received her B.A. from SUNY Purchase (2002) and her M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY (2006). Her work was shown in Everything All At Once, a Queens Museum Biennial exhibition and was commended by Martha Schwendener in The New York Times. I Still Live With Them, a solo exhibition, was held at Scalo Project Space, New York, NY (2004). Selected exhibitions and screenings include: Borderline Festival, traveling through Beijing, China (2007); Girls on Film, Magnet Theater, New York, NY (2007); Persona: Personal and Public, Visual Arts Gallery, New York, NY (2006); and Filmideo, Red Saw Gallery, Newark, NJ (2006 & 2007).
